Our mission is to transform perspectives about chronic illness and the way we manage it, to celebrate the greatness in ordinary accomplishments that patients face everyday.
Patients living with chronic illnesses often face a different set of challenges – challenges that are not necessarily just physiological or medical in nature.
The ordinary, routine tasks that people tend to do everyday without needing assistance (also known as activities of daily living), may be particularly demanding for a person living with chronic illness. These activities include getting out of bed in the morning, getting ready for the day, going to the grocery store, etc. Or simply the activities they engage in to feel better.
Yet when people think of chronic disease, they typically think about the medical aspects of managing and coping with it. The less palpable aspects of everyday life with a chronic illness are often left unspoken about.
